Nature I've never felt nervous approaching the seas Nor have I panicked, surrounded by trees There's something in nature that's wonderfully real We can be who we are, feel what we feel It's not that it's safe, for it can do us great harm But it kills with its teeth and not with its charm For nature is honest and will never deceive By claiming to give, while it tries to receive When the sun finally sets, you're certain it's gone 'Til like clockwork its back to signal the dawn I've yet to catch mice in the middle of a lie Nor watched as the bird, stole from the sky I've yet to have wind try to convince me It'll always blow for and never against me Imagine a mountain, convinced that its heights Have given it certain unalienable rights Or how about a river that tries to maintain That somehow its depths are wetter than rain No, I've never seen trophies resting on shelves Nor daffodils busy improving themselves They leave that to us, for we are the wise Searching for truth in the midst of our lies
